In this episode, Nick goes over three different ways to record your podcast remotely when you’re on the road or not at your podcast recording studio! Nick and Brandon also go live to tape as they begin to film their podcast recordings.

Are you trying to figure out the best solution for recording your podcast remotely? Well, there are many ways to do that, but here are three common ways to do just that!

Setup #1 – This is the most involved method, but it will provide everything you need for a professional setup for up to 4+ people.

What’s needed:

  • Computer with your DAW (digital audio workstation) of choice
  • Audio Interface
  • Headphones
  • Headphone Distribution Amplifier
  • Microphones
  • Microphone Stands
  • XLR Cables
  • Power Cables/Power Strips
  • Pop-Filters

Setup #2 – Use a piece of equipment such as the Rode Podcaster Pro. This will act as your computer, audio interface, and headphone distribution amplifier. Allows up to 4 people to record at the same time.

What’s needed:

  • Rode Podcast Pro
  • Headphones
  • Microphones
  • Microphone Stands
  • Pop-filters
  • XLR Cables
  • Power Strip
  • SD Card (this allows you to record onto the device)

Setup #3 – Use a simple portable recording device such as the Zoom H6. This is great for 1 to 2 people.

What’s needed:

  • Portable Audio Recording Device
  • Headphones
  • Microphone (make it easier and get a handheld with a pop-filter on it)
  • XLR Cable
